Graham's folk/pop acoustic guitar and clean piano is derivative of bands such as The Head and The Heart and M. Ward, and reminiscent of artists such as Bob Dylan. His lyrical nostalgia takes on a sort of "out at sea" longing and childhood recollection. Built For Us introduces a female counterpart and bare bones percussion similar to the sounds of Paul Simon's Cecilia.

Gentry grew up around musicians, as his father (Brian Gentry) is a singer/songwriter recording and writing with the late Dan Peek of the 70's super group America. Perhaps it's this musical upbringing that's responsible for the deceivingly simple yet emotionally potent song craft.
